The project implied the construction of the new Passengers Terminal, designed by Arch. Rafael Viñoly. It is developed in five levels, with separate roads for arrivals and departures.
The building is located within an area of more than 45. 000 sq. m. and has seven boarding doors, four of them with telescopic fingers.

40,000 CBM of concrete were made, 21.000 sq. m. of granite and 23.000 sq. m. of ceilings were installed during the construction, among other items.

Comments of the Site Manager:

It was a very demanding project, which had complexities derived from its design, which is modern and original both in shape as in the materials used. Many companies took part in the work, which required an accurate and balanced coordination work.

Deadlines were very strict, which demanded the management to make a very careful planning of tasks and supplies to constitute a specialized team for every single part and area of the work.

Passion was put in the work, and all of us were proud of having been part of the team that constructed the most modern airport of Latin America and of having successfully completed a project that is so important for Uruguay as a country.
