The Free Zone "Parque de las Ciencias" is dedicate to the Industry and Services and will focus on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology areas.

The project involves the construction of a production and research centre specialized in the areas of life and health.

The first phase covered about 16 hectares and shall include the following:

• total perimeter fencing of the property, with the respective vehicle control path.

• lighting and infrastructure for the installation of MegaPharma Plant (Pharmaceuticals Plant, Logistics Building and Development Laboratory).

• Offices and facilities of the National Customs Administration and of the Parque de las Ciencias, which will be located at the gateway to the Free Zone and MegaPharma Administration Building.

Comment of the Site Manager:

This is a particular infrastructure work because the working areas are spread along an area of 54 hectares. Our challenge was to reach an efficient schedule and coordination with our subcontractors in order to carry the project out in an effective way.

Special attention shall have to be put on logistics and on the control of supplies and subcontracted works, given that they represent a high percentage of the work.
